Sasha Farber hasn’t competed with a celebrity partner on DWTS since Season 33. He was paired with Bachelorette Jenn Tran that year and they had a brief showmance. His fans hoped he would return for Season 35 after missing out on last year. However, when ABC announced the celebrities and their pro partners, he wasn’t among them. Now, the pro dancer broke his silence and addressed his shocking Season 35 absence. Keep reading for more details.
Sasha Farber Breaks Silence On Season 35 Absence
Sasha Farber was one of the pro dancers who attended this summer’s first-ever DWTS fan convention. He won a Mirrorball trophy replica in an event which paired pros and fans. However, he never won a Mirrorball trophy on the ABC show during any of his 12 seasons as a pro.
Sasha Farber was a full-time pro in Seasons 17, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. Some of his celebrity partners included Tonya Harding, Selma Blair, and Alyson Hannigan. He also spent eight seasons performing as a member of the dance troupe. However, he wasn’t asked to return as a pro for Season 35.
In a now-deleted social media comment, he responded to a fan asking why. The fan asked, “Genuinely at this point you’re all over social and they’re leveraging you …. is this your choice? Are you wanting to be behind the scenes and move into like a hosting entertainment tonight Derek hough thing?”

According to multiple outlets, Sasha Farber bluntly replied, “Not my choice.” He wasn’t the only fan favorite pro dancer left off this year’s roster. Gleb Savchenko was also passed over, possibly because his former partner/fling Brooks Nader’s sister is competing on Season 35.
DWTS Fans Devastated Over Snub
Sasha Farber deleted his comment. However, fans shared their heartbreak over his DWTS absence on his other social media posts.
