Viewers have followed Mama June star Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird’s story over the years. Recently, she shared big news with fans concerning her personal life. In fact, she had a few photos to share, with one thing in particular she especially wanted to show off.
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon Efird & Her Family Have Been Part Of A Number Of Reality Shows Over The Years
Fans were introduced to Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird and her family through a number of reality shows. These include Toddlers & Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. More recently, the family’s lives were chronicled in the WE tv series Mama June, which premiered in 2017.
In her personal life, Pumpkin was married to Josh Efird for six years. They ultimately finalized their divorce in September 2024. The two share four children, Ella, Bentley, Sylus, and Stella.
In late 2024, Pumpkin debuted her relationship with Darrin Kitchens. Since then, she had a big announcement to share with fans on social media.
Lauryn loudly proclaimed that she was “ENGAGED” in all-caps, complete with a few emojis, including an engagement ring. She wrote, “I am literally STILL over the moon!!!”

Lauryn continued, “Last night Darrin proposed, with Lana right by my side, and I seriously couldn’t have asked for anything better.” She then mused back on her time with Darrin over the past few years.
As Lauryn noted, “These last 2 years have been a WILD ride, but it’s a wild ride I wouldn’t wanna take with anyone else. We’ve had SO many good times, made so many memories, and I’ll never lie… we’ve definitely had our disagreements too. But at the end of the day, this love has always felt so different from anything I’ve ever experienced.”
Over the past few years, the couple has seen their issues, such as the revelation that Darrin was related to Josh’s stepfather. However, Pumpkin made sure to thank fans for their support throughout her relationship.
Lauryn expressed, “The way you support me, the way you love me, the way you love my kids, and most importantly, the way you ALWAYS lift me up means more to me than you’ll ever know. You’ve stood beside me and for that I’m so thankful I get to do life with you. I’m so excited for this next chapter, for our future, for our family, and for all the memories we still have ahead of us.”
Pumpkin also made sure to end things with a note to the man she loves. She wrote, “I love you more than you’ll ever know, baby. Here’s to forever!!! And honestly… The Future Mrs. Kitchens has a NICE RING to it.”
The post also included a carousel of photos of the engagement. Everything started with Darrin on one knee presenting Lauryn her ring. She then flaunted it in a series of photos, with family and even sitting down for a bite with Darrin.
