Selma Blair was arrested after allegedly attempting to open an emergency exit door aboard a Delta Air Lines flight on Sunday, leading to a confrontation with the crew, according to TMZ and Page Six.
Two flight attendants reportedly suffered injuries during the incident, with Blair, 54, accused of punching one crew member and biting another. One of the flight attendants was reportedly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Upon the flight’s arrival from Los Angeles to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Blair was arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation. While being transported by ambulance, she allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head, according to TMZ. She is also accused of assaulting a nurse at the hospital.

Blair was arraigned in a Manhattan court on Monday on two counts of felony assault. Speaking in court, her attorney, Shawn Barnes, said the actress became disoriented during the flight after missing multiple doses of a “powerful” medication that “controls severe neurological symptoms.” Her attorney also said Blair hit her head during the flight, and had recently been on set working long hours.
“These factors, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation,” Barnes said.
Blair was released on bond and is due back in court in January. She is also facing potential federal charges.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” her representative told Page Six in a statement.
Blair was previously removed from a flight on a stretcher in 2016 following an outburst. At the time, she attributed her behavior to a “black out” caused by a combination of alcohol and medication.
