All season long, dancing pros and celebrities alike have been fighting for their dancing lives on DWTS. However, now they are mad because one contestant seems to be getting more promotion than everyone else from the network. Keep reading to find out more about what’s going on and why everyone is mad.
One Dancer Rises Above In Promotion
There may be several talented pro dancers and celebrities on Dancing with the Stars, but that doesn’t mean they all get a fair shot at the mirrorball trophy. This season, Jackson Olson from the Savannah Bananas is taking the stage, and it seems he may be getting more attention than everyone else. As previously reported, DWTS actually already said that they were ready to make him the next Robert Irwin. Could this be a result of that?
Apparently, this all started with a championship event for the Savannah Bananas. It was called the Banana Bowl, and it happened on October 10 in Washington, D.C. This was the first-ever Banana Bowl, making it extra special.

However, because of this event, Disney seems to be promoting Jackson far more than any of the other couples who are working equally as hard to take home the win at the end of the season.
DWTS Contestants Aren’t Happy
Needless to say, all of this extra exposure Jackson has gotten is really frustrating the rest of the cast, The Sun reports.
“There is a lot of frustration with the pros and the contestants about how much Disney and ABC is promoting Jackson,” a source says about the situation.
“Because of the Banana Bowl, he was all over their social media pages, morning shows, pop-up ads on the streamer, and ads during the show too,” the source continues. “All of that adds up and gives enough exposure to impact the votes. The other stars on the show know this and don’t think it’s fair.”
Obviously, none of this is Jackson’s fault, and the cast doesn’t hold it against him. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t angry about the whole situation in general.
“They don’t hold it against Jackson, they know it’s not a fault on him and it’s a network decision. Still, it doesn’t help the frustrations that one person is getting more exposure than the rest.”
Since the dancer’s scores are based on votes, this repetitive marketing can actually really affect the viewers. The more they see Jackson, the more he will stand out to them, and the more likely they will be to vote for him over his competitors.
“The repeated exposure matters: viewers who see a contestant on TV and commercials may become more familiar with him than with competitors who are promoted primarily through DWTS itself.”
