Jack Osbourne Shares Advice From Late Dad Ozzy Osbourne

Jack Osbourne is revealing the one piece of advice from his late father Ozzy Osbourne that will resonate with him forever.

“Trust your gut. Trust your gut always,” Ozzy’s son exclusively shared with Us at the world premiere of Ozzy & Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 14.

Jack, 40, admits that advice didn’t always apply — especially when it came to rock music.

When asked what the Prince of Darkness taught him about the genre, Jack laughed, “Well, he hated my taste in it, so that’s what he taught me.”

Jack and his mother, Sharon Osbourne, joined other family members and some of music’s biggest names for the film’s debut.

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning follows the final live performance of Ozzy and the original Black Sabbath lineup: Ozzy (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums). The concert took place at Birmingham’s Villa Park stadium on July 5, 2025 — just 17 days before the rock legend died at age 76 on July 22.

“I don’t think he’d be proud. I think he would be flattered that so many people came out to just give him love,” Jack said about all the rockers who made an appearance to support the film. “He would probably say, ‘I don’t understand what the big fuss is about.’”

While the Crazy Train rocker was known for his wild antics and heavy metal music, he was just Dad to Jack.

“If you were a fan of [Ozzy], I think you really kind of understood the many sides of him. He wasn’t a person that was afraid to show who he really was. And so I think he did a pretty good job of being his authentic self. And you know he was probably a lot more quiet than I think people ever would have anticipated,” the father of five told Us.

Jack does agree, however, that their family’s late patriarch got away with his fair share of chaos over his nearly 60-year career.

The shenanigan that sticks out most to Jack is the infamous “piss” heard ’round Texas, he shared with Us.

In February 1982, an intoxicated Ozzy urinated on the Alamo Cenotaph, a 60-foot monument honoring the defenders who died at the Alamo, while wearing wife Sharon’s green evening gown after he stumbled outside of their San Antonio hotel room because he needed to relieve himself.

He was dressed in Sharon’s garments because she had reportedly hidden Ozzy’s clothes in an attempt to keep him inside.

Ozzy was arrested for public intoxication as a result of the incident and banned from performing in the city for 10 years. After a heartfelt apology and a $10,000 donation in 1992, rumor has it that the rocker was given a key to the city. However, local reports dispute that.

After Ozzy’s death, the Alamo paid its respects to the musician.

“We at the Alamo are saddened to hear of the passing of legendary musician Ozzy Osbourne,” the Alamo wrote in a statement. “His relationship with the Alamo was marked initially by a deeply disrespectful incident in 1982. This act profoundly and rightfully upset many who hold this site sacred.”

The post continued, “At the Alamo, we honor history in all its complexities. Today, we acknowledge Ozzy Osbourne’s journey from regret to reconciliation at the historic site, and we extend our condolences to his family, friends, and fans around the world. May he rest in peace.”

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning will be released in cinemas worldwide beginning October 28, 2026.
