Dark Adventure Title ‘SHUTEN ORDER’ Out Now on Steam, Switch [Trailer]

It’s difficult to describe Neilo Inc’s new dark adventure title SHUTEN ORDER, which is out today on Steam and the Nintendo Switch. A mashup of genres blended into one, the title is the latest from the mind of Kazutaka Kodaka, the creator of the Danganronpa series.

The story concerns humanity as it approaches its own demise. In a world steeped in despair and chaos, a strange religious organization called the Shuten Order emerges, which in fact pines for the end of humanity. The group rapidly gains followers, eventually forming a small nation state called Shuten. Things are thrown into turmoil when you, the leader of the Shuten Order, are murdered. Soon after, you awaken with no memory, revived by divine power. However, your new life is limited to four days, requiring you in that time to identify and get reveng on your murderer.

SHUTEN ORDER combines five different adventure games into one, each tied to a suspect and completely altering the narrative and gameplay. These include a multi-perspective visual novel, a mystery adventure, a romance adventure (?!), and an “extreme escape adventure”. The last one is a stealth action horror sequence, where you must flee from legendary killer Nephilim while investigating your suspect. You’ll need to solve various puzzles in 3D stages while avoiding the Nephilim. Completing all routes unlocks the final chapter, unlocking the ultimate mystery.
