Joe Hill on ‘King Sorrow’, ‘Black Phone 2′, and the Influence of His Father Stephen King [The Losers’ Club Podcast]

In this week’s episode of The Losers’ Club, Randall Colburn and Jenn Adams chat briefly about Joe Hill’s new book, King Sorrow (out October 21st) before Joe himself swings by the clubhouse. The son of Stephen King and author of books like 20th Century Ghosts, NOS4A2, and Locke & Key, Hill talks about his career and the origins and evolutions of his fascinating fantasy-horror epic, a 900-page novel about six friends and one dragon.

That’s not all: Hill also opens up about his dad’s influence on his work, how he approaches incorporating King Easter eggs, and the writing tips bestowed on him as a youngster. Finally, he teases a new novel, Hunger, due out (hopefully) in 2026, and the upcoming sequel to Scott Derrickson’s Black Phone, which was adapted from his short story, and arrives in theaters next Friday, October 17th.
