Kelly Marie Tran and David Dastmalchian have been set to star in the psychological thriller Kodak Super-XX, the feature directorial debut of Auden Bui (The Lost City of Tomorrow).

Kodak Super-XX is being produced by actor Ron Perlman’s newly launched film, TV, and new media studio, Asylm Studios, Deadline reports today.

The psychological neo-noir film is described as “a haunting burn about loneliness, art, and the moment creation and obsession blur into one.” Further plot and character details remain under wraps, though.

“I’m thrilled that ASYLM Studios selected Kodak Super-XX as its debut feature. The studio represents a return to filmmaking in its purest form – a focus on craft, story, and most importantly, the people who make it happen,” Bui said in a statement.

Star Wars actor Kelly Marie Tran most recently starred in Hulu’s Control Freak, which was released earlier this year. As for David Dastmalchian, the in-demand horror stalwart appeared earlier this year in Rosario, The Life of Chuck, “Murderbot,” and “Dexter: Resurrection.” The actor will next be seen in Bryan Fuller’s Dust Bunny.

Tony Rettenmaier (They Cloned Tyrone) wrote the movie and will produce with Juel Taylor, Josh Feldman, and Sean King O’Grady for Death Ground Films.

Also producing are Dastmalchian and Jen Iacobino for Good Fiend. Executive producers include Feras Majid Shammami for Robinwood7, and Perlman and Willie Morris for ASYLM Studios.
