‘Mickey-vs-Winnie’ Teaser – Monstrous Public Domain Characters Battle for Supremacy

‘Mickey-vs-Winnie’ Teaser – Monstrous Public Domain Characters Battle for Supremacy

In the tradition of King Kong vs. Godzilla, Freddy vs. Jason, and Alien vs. Predator, Winnie-the-Pooh and Mickey Mouse will square off in The Dark Domain: Mickey-vs-Winnie.

Meet your new public domain nightmare in the new teaser below.

The crossover reimagines the children’s characters as nightmarish killing machines, with Dark Mickey envisioned as “Pennywise meets Freddy Krueger” and Dark Winnie described as “Jason Voorhees levels up into the Predator.”

Produced by Untouchables Entertainment, the indie horror film is directed by Glenn Douglas Packard (Pitchfork) from a script he co-wrote with Rachel Carter

The twisted fairy tale kicks off a century ago, when two convicts disappear into Hell Forest, a place feared for its dark legends and whispers of a malevolent curse. Their mysterious vanishing marked the beginning of tales about a sinister force lurking within the forest, feeding on those who dared to enter.

In the present day, a group of childhood friends, each haunted by their own unresolved traumas, are inexplicably drawn to the reform school they once attended,  Nestled in the center of the forest’s dark heart, the abandoned school stands as a decaying monument to their lost innocence.

The forest takes shape in the grotesque forms of monstrous versions of two beloved childhood figures, born from the darkest corners of the group’s psyche: Dark Mickey, a sinister manipulator and bloodthirsty force of chaos, and Dark Winnie, a feral predator who thrives on destruction.

The unrelenting battle becomes more than just a physical confrontation, forcing the friends to face not only the nightmarish creatures but also the darkness within themselves.

Daniel Wilkinson and Givanni Gotay star as Dark Mickey and Dark Winnie, respectively, with Fayna Sanchez (Abraham’s Boys) as a woman on a mission to protect her friends from the horrors of their past and the danger in their present.

“As a director, I was committed to creating the most authentic and intense atmosphere possible,” Packard explains. “We even brought in a body-piercing suspension artist. It was an intense experience for the cast, a few even vomited.”

Packard continues, “When it was all said and done, we knew we’d done more than just pay homage to public domain horror, we elevated it. We gave horror fans exactly what they’ve been craving from this sub-genre. It’s a first-of-its-kind crossover showdown between two childhood icons, the gore is real, the terror is relentless, and the nostalgia is twisted beyond recognition.”

Currently in post-production, The Dark Domain: Mickey-vs-Winnie is expected to premiere in 2026.
