With Thom Yorke Ailing, Radiohead Postpone Copenhagen Gigs

Radiohead are postponing their shows planned for tonight (Dec. 1) and tomorrow in Copenhagen to allow frontman Thom Yorke to recover from “an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing. Treatment is underway.”

The dates are being moved to Dec. 15-16, and tickets “will be automatically transferred to the new corresponding date,” per the band, which is winding down their first run of performances since 2018. Two additional Copenhagen shows are still on tap for Dec. 4-5 as is a four-night run in Berlin — depending on Yorke’s health.

“We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again,” the band continued. “Needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows.”

Radiohead have performed 45 different songs across the first 12 shows, including rarities such as “Sit Down. Stand Up,” “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” and “(Nice Dream)” which have not been played in years.

“I guess the wheels came off a bit, so we had to stop,” Yorke told the Sunday Times in a recent interview about Radiohead’s long break between touring. “There were a lot of elements. The shows felt great but it was, like, let’s halt now before we walk off this cliff.”
