    Gore Verbinski’s Sci-Fi Movie Earns R Rating

Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) is back in the director’s seat for the first time since 2016’s A Cure for Wellness with an officially R-rated sci-fi adventure.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die has been rated R for “pervasive language, violence, some grisly images and brief sexual content.”

Briarcliff Entertainment is releasing the mind-bending sci-fi adventure in theaters on February 13, 2026.

In the film, Sam Rockwell stars as a man claiming to be from the future who takes the patrons of an iconic Los Angeles diner hostage in search of unlikely recruits in a quest to save the world.

Haley Lu Richardson (“The White Lotus,” Split), Michael Peña (Ant-Man), Zazie Beetz (Joker, Wounds), Asim Chandhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple (“Fargo,” Horns) round out the ensemble cast.

Matthew Robinson (Love and Monsters, The Invention of Lying) wrote the screenplay.

“This film is wildly original, endlessly entertaining, and unlike anything audiences have seen before,” said Briarcliff CEO Tom Ortenberg. “After seeing it, we immediately knew Briarcliff was the perfect partner to distribute Gore Verbinski’s first independent, bonkers movie. We couldn’t be more excited to share his vision with audiences across the country.”

Verbinski produces alongside Robert Kulzer, Erwin Stoff, Oly Obst, and Denise Chamian.

Good Luck, Don’t Die, Have Fun made its surprise debut as a Fantastic Fest secret screening before screening at Beyond Fest. Its release was initially slated for January 30, but it is now arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day.
