An Arnold Schwarzenegger-led buddy comedy flick will soon exit Netflix‘s content library. As is tradition with Netflix’s vast library, another content shake-up is on the cards that will see the addition, as well as the removal, of a host of TV shows and movies. Among the movies that will be leaving Netflix next month are certain fan-favorite rom-coms, a few animated classics, and the aforementioned 1988 film starring Schwarzenegger.
Twins leaves Netflix in April
Subscribers of the renowned streaming platform who want to watch Schwarzenegger’s comical pairing with Danny DeVito need to do it soon, as Twins will be leaving Netflix next month. Directed by Ivan Reitman, the 107-minute feature will officially part ways with the service on April 1, 2026.
Released in 1988, the movie revolves around a genetic experiment gone wrong, where scientists, in an attempt to create the perfect child, end up producing a pair of twins. While one brother, Vincent (DeVito), grows on to become a cunning street-hustler, the other, Julius (Schwarzenegger), turns out gentle and intelligent, albeit naive to the ways of the world. Upon learning the truth about his mother and sibling, Julius embarks on an adventure to find his family.
In addition to Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Twins also features a packed supporting cast, including the likes of Kelly Preston, Chloe Webb, Bonnie Bartlett, Marshall Bell, Hugh O’Brian, and Tony Jay, among others.
Upon its theatrical debut, the movie failed to garner a positive response from critics, earning a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, Twins absolutely crushed at the global box office, earning over $216 million worldwide on a relatively smaller budget of $15 million, as per Box Office Mojo.
The film’s financial success even warranted a sequel, titled Triplets, with the addition of Tracy Morgan. However, the death of director Ivan Reitman in 2022 ultimately led his son, Jason, to scrap the idea of Part 2.
