Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024, but they are still legally married. Many have been led to believe that this is all Jax’s fault, but now, the former Valley star is sharing the truth behind the delayed divorce. Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright Stuck In A Loop
When Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor tied the knot in Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules, viewers were hopeful. At the same time, they knew Jax’s past and how he could never behave for too long, so they were not expecting much. Within a short time, he was lashing out, and the couple was axed from the series. They went on to welcome a son, Cruz, and helmed the VPR spinoff, The Valley. Before the series could premiere, Brittany and Jax announced that they had split. In August 2024, they filed for divorce but are still married.
Initially, Jax had filled out some paperwork wrong, so it had to be revised. It always seemed like it was his fault that there was a delay in the divorce. However, he is now speaking up and sharing that it has nothing to do with him. Rather, this is allegedly all Brittany’s doing, as her team is ill-prepared, and that is why they cannot finalize anything. Mark Vincent Kaplan, the lawyer for Jax Taylor, shared this:
“Jax has been wanting to move this case forward to completion for a long time. The idea that he is the reason holding up the divorce is completely false. Jax is doing everything he can to move forward.”
Attorney Kaplan went on to note how Jax has been completely prepared when he has come to court. However, after spending a day attempting to handle business, he claimed that he learned his estranged wife did not have what was necessary to proceed:
“He participated in an all-day conference only to be informed upon arrival that Brittany had no documents and no financial documents prepared, which rendered the entire process and the hearing useless. Jax believes it’s in everyone’s best interest, especially their son’s interest, and is hopeful Brittany’s side will achieve that goal. It’s impossible to settle a case when only one party is seemingly motivated to do so.”
Allegedly, what Jax Taylor’s team is stating is false, an insider close to Brittany Cartwright shared with Us Weekly. She has claimed she is following all the rules to get this settled expeditiously. Unfortunately, it is a case of he said/she said.

At this point, The Valley fans cannot stand Brittany Cartwright or Jax Taylor. Therefore, they do not believe either side and think they are both telling lies. They think that Jax’s lawyer is wasting his time just so that he can get paid. Furthermore, they do not believe that Jax has ever been prepared for anything in his life. Finally, it was noted that no one knows why Jax Taylor even bothers to open his mouth when he is constantly lying.
