Turnstile’s ‘Never Enough’ Gets Unexpected Remix Treatment

Elton John, Four Tet, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Alex G and Dying Fetus are among the wildly eclectic guests joining Turnstile for NEVER ENOUGH: VERSIONS, a reimagined take on the Baltimore hardcore band’s Grammy-winning 2025 album, due Aug. 28 from Roadrunner.

The guest list alone suggests that Turnstile has once again decided that genre boundaries are somebody else’s problem. Alongside the above, VERSIONS features contributions from Slayyyter, Porches, A.G. Cook, Floating Points, Rod Lee, Kettama, Mustafa, Julien Baker, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, jazz musician Brandon Woody, fellow Baltimore outsider Dan Deacon, Blood Orange, Chanel Beads, Faye Webster, Angel Du$t, Shabaka, Oklou and Nourished by Time.

The project follows NEVER ENOUGH, which marked another leap outward for Turnstile’s already genre-resistant sound and earned the band its first two Grammys: Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance for “BIRDS.” The album was accompanied by TURNSTILE: NEVER ENOUGH, a feature-length film directed by band members Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory.

Turnstile will launch the second leg of a NEVER ENOUGH-supporting tour Sept. 9 in Milwaukee, bringing a rotating collection of artists to each city rather than a conventional support lineup. The 16-date run will feature Clipse, Ceremony, Thundercat, Slayyyter, Hatebreed, Vince Staples, Yves Tumor, Die Spitz, Pennywise, Cold World and Texas Is the Reason, among others.

In related news, Yates is among the guests on beabadoobee’s upcoming album, Pylon, which arrives Sept. 18 via Dirty Hit and Interscope.
