Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans is speaking out after ex-husband David Eason’s assault and child abuse charges were dropped.
“Idc [I don’t care] about anything to do with that court case because it was drama for attention from all parts,” Evans, 34, wrote via X on Tuesday, August 25. “Keep me away from all of it. I’m minding my own business. I have 2 other kids that need my attention.”
Us confirmed that Eason’s charges of felony assault by strangulation and child abuse were dropped during a court hearing on Monday, August 24.
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Eason, 38, was present in court, but Evans — who shares Jace, 17, with ex Andrew Lewis — was not.
In September 2023, Jace told police that he had run away from home after Eason allegedly assaulted him.
According to a police incident report obtained by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, told police that her then-14-year-old grandson had called her and explained he was “hiding” from his stepdad following the alleged assault.
Eason — who shares daughter Ensley, 9, with Jenelle — maintained his innocence and denied ever assaulting Jace.
“It takes a sick person to spread lies on the internet about a child! Then the rest of you are sick for chiming in like you know something because you read their lies,” Eason wrote via Instagram in October 2023. “You people really need help! Our kids are in our custody, and anything you read is not true!”
Eason further claimed that “police reports have been falsified and the truth is already apparent to everyone involved. … The best thing any of you can do for Jace is to stop talking about him all together please! Thanks.”
Jenelle — who also shares son Kaiser, 12, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffin — is currently not living with Jace. Instead, her eldest son is residing with Barbara after spending time in a facility, where he was able to work on himself and focus on his emotional well-being.
“Jace is back at my mom’s at the moment and isn’t coming to live with me because my mother and I have mutually agreed upon his living situation and circumstances,” Jenelle exclusively shared with Us on August 13. “This has nothing to do with David at all. Jace wants to be around his friends and is now working at his job again that he once had. I’m really happy all parties can come together for my son and finally agree on something.”
During a rare Instagram Live on August 18, Jace said he is “doing pretty good” and still maintains a relationship with his siblings.
“My grandma, she’s doing pretty good,” he said. “I’m over here just living my life. Everyone was happy to have me back home. I’ve been doing my best.”
