David and Victoria Beckham Praise Son Romeo on 24th Birthday

David and Victoria Beckham are celebrating son Romeo’s latest trip around the sun.

“Happy Birthday mate, we love you so much and I’m so proud of you for all you are as a person, sweet, kind and just an amazing young man,” David, 51, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, September 1. “Love you so so much have the best day ever you deserve it 🩷🩷 @romeobeckham @victoriabeckham 🩷🩷.”

Alongside the tribute, David shared a series of photos of the father-son duo through the years. In one black-and-white image, David pressed a kiss to his son’s forehead as Romeo, 24, smiled at the camera. Victoria, meanwhile, uploaded a snap of her and Romeo at a concert, while also sharing a pic of the pair with David.

“Romeo, you have the biggest smile and an even bigger heart,” Victoria, 52, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “You are smart, kind and loved by us all so much. We are so proud of the incredible young man you have become. You treat everyone with such respect and kindness. x 💫✨💫 Happy Birthday @romeobeckham we love you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.”

David and Victoria, who tied the knot in 1999, also share sons Brooklyn, 27, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 15. In January, Brooklyn confirmed speculation about a Beckham family rift with a scathing statement. At the time, Brooklyn shared that he does “not want to reconcile” with his family and alleged that his parents “controlled narratives in the press” for his “entire life.”

“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of the innocent people, to preserve their own facade,” he claimed via his Instagram Story at the time. “But I believe the truth always comes out.”

Brooklyn, who wed Nicola Peltz Beckham in 2022, alleged that his parents had “been trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship” before they exchanged vows and claimed that Victoria “hijacked” their first dance.

Hours later, David gave a TV interview to CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos and offered a cryptic response about children making mistakes on social media.

Romeo Beckham’s family showed him love on his birthday, but his brother Brooklyn Beckham was noticeably missing from the festivities. Romeo’s dad, David Beckham, kicked off the tributes on Sunday, August 31, posting a throwback photo via Instagram in honor of his son. “Happy 23rd Birthday to my little boy 🩷 you are kind , […]

“I’ve always spoken about social media and the power of social media — for the good and for the bad,” he told Squawk Box at the time. “What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well: Use it for the right reasons.”

He continued, “I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for UNICEF. And it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children. And I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn. So, that’s what I try to teach my kids, but you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”

Months later, Victoria broke her silence on the family feud by sharing with the Wall Street Journal that she and David “love our children so much.”

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she said. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
