‘The Lacerator’ Slices Onto Steam October 9 [Trailer]

DreadXP and Games From The Abyss’ grindhouse Survival Horror game The Lacerator are joining a busy Halloween season with an October 9 release on Steam. To mark the occasion, the teams have released a brand new trailer, offering a fresh look at the gore, the laughs, and the limb-losing mayhem that awaits players in the fight to survive and escape.

Blending the tense survival horror of retro classics with the over-the-top chaos and humor of an 80s slasher flick, The Lacerator sees players take on the role of Max, a famous porn actor and the best to ever do it. During the latest recording session with his crew, things get heavy when everyone is attacked and abducted by eponymous killer. Now inside a filthy hideout, Max must do whatever it takes to escape alive and in one piece.

That “one piece” part will prove to be difficult, as The Lacerator has a penchant for doing such things to his victims. As a result, you’ll need to explore, fight, and puzzle your way out of the hellish lair, where every decision matters. That will prove to be difficult, especially after the game’s signature mechanic comes into play: losing just about any limb in your body. Lose an arm, leg, or… other appendage, and your options change dramatically, sometimes limiting what you can do, but also opening up new paths and possibilities, branching the narrative into gruesome outcomes.

If you’re keen on checking out The Lacerator ahead of its launch, the demo is still available on Steam.
