Fans of Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves will soon have another chance to stream one of their earlier collaborations. The psychological thriller Knock Knock, starring both stars in leading roles, is scheduled to join HBO Max next month, expanding the platform’s August streaming lineup.
Knock Knock arrives on HBO Max in August
Ana de Armas’ erotic thriller Knock Knock, co-starring Keanu Reeves, has secured a new streaming home. According to WBD Press, the film will become available on HBO Max beginning August 30, 2026.
Written and directed by Eli Roth, Knock Knock premiered in U.S. theaters on October 9, 2015. The psychological thriller serves as a remake of the 1977 film Death Game. The story centers on Evan Webber, a successful architect whose quiet weekend at home takes an unexpected turn after he offers shelter to two young women caught outside during a storm.
With his wife and children away, Evan believes he is simply helping strangers in need. However, his desires soon lead to consequences he never anticipated. After the pair seduce him, the situation rapidly escalates into a dangerous psychological confrontation, leaving Evan trapped in a disturbing game that threatens both his marriage and his life.
Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Evan Webber, alongside Lorenza Izzo as Genesis and Ana de Armas as Bel. The supporting ensemble also includes Ignacia Allamand as Karen Alvarado Webber, Aaron Burns as Louis, and several others.
Upon release, the movie received largely neagtive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 37 percent critics’ score based on 76 reviews. Audience response proved even weaker, with viewers giving the thriller a 19 percent score. Jade Budowski of Decider wrote that it “begins with a sinister, sexy premise, but its tonal inconsistency and misguided direction never quite let the film find its feet.”
