Sylvester Stallone can’t help but gush over wife Jennifer Flavin while making a rare comment about the pair’s relationship.
“What have I learned from her?” Stallone, 80, reflected in a Sunday, September 27, interview with CBS News. “That I’ll never be as good as her. She’s just magnificent, has kept me alive. And it took me so long to turn my head around and go, ‘Oh, you have the greatest gift in the world right here and you’re looking out there, you fool!’”
Stallone and Flavin, 58, first met in 1988 and dated for six years before their split. The couple ultimately rekindled their relationship and tied the knot in 1997. In August 2022, Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone, but the pair reconciled two months later. Us confirmed at the time that the legal paperwork had been dismissed.
The couple share three daughters: Sophia Rose, 30, Sistine Rose, 28, and Scarlet Rose, 24. The Rambo star also welcomed sons Seargeoh, 44, and Sage during his first marriage to actress Sasha Czack. (Sage died of coronary artery disease in 2012 at the age of 36.)

“I really wasn’t a very good parent,” Stallone recalled of his life as a dad in a Saturday, September 26, profile with The New York Times. “My wife, Jennifer, is the greatest woman ever. And she is the most giving. I don’t have that gear of just abandonment of your own personal self for someone else. She raised my daughters that way. My first marriage wasn’t like that. I was in my warrior mode. Let’s conquer the world. Everything fell by the wayside. It was just a measly manner of existence.”
Last year, Flavin opened up about navigating ups and downs during her marriage to Stallone.
“There is no perfect marriage. So, everyone that’s looking for that dream marriage, there’s no such thing,” Flavin said in Us’ exclusive first look of an episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast” in October. “You have good days, you have bad days. You have good years and you have bad years. You have tough times but you have great times.”
Flavin shared that she’s noticed that when things “get a little tough” for others, that’s when people tend to “jump” instead of working through issues.
“The one thing I would say is, be patient with one another,” she said. “It’s so hard because everyone has a different mentality in marriage and what they’re going for in a marriage.”
