Your First Look at the Fendi x Skims Video Campaign

When Fendi’s collaboration with Kim Kardashian West’s loungewear brand Skims was first announced in October, it initially took us by surprise. But after processing the information, the partnership makes complete sense. Given the reality star-turned-business mogul’s keen eye for body-conscious silhouettes and Fendi’s iconic logo and elevated sportswear, this is a match made in marketable heaven. Designed in tandem with Fendi’s creative director Kim Jones, Fendi x Skims drops tomorrow, Nov. 6, at 9 a.m. ET at fendiskims.com and in select Fendi stores and retailers globally. In anticipation of the launch, Fendi x Skims just dropped its film campaign directed by Marcel Wepper, and ELLE.com has the exclusive first look above.

In the 30-second video, we see Kardashian West prepping for the shoot wearing a hot pink velour crop and matching leggings, then posing on a set backdropped by the hybrid Fendi x Skims logo. (The iconic FF monogram was first introduced by the late Karl Lagerfeld in 1965.) She is joined by models Precious Lee, Tianna St. Louis, Jessie Li, and Grace Valentine, all wearing coordinating separates. Highlights from the collection include bonded leather dresses, saturated and form-fitting beachwear, and embossed knitwear. The collab is complemented with Fendi accessories like a coral nano Baguette and shearling hiking sandals. In other words, the L.A. energy is palpable.

“The innovation in fabrics and fit typical to Skims paired with the luxury and quality of Fendi may feel unexpected to some people, but the similarities between our creative vision and goals are so closely aligned,” Kardashian West said in the original press release. “It’s that tension that excites me.”

This is the year of designer collaborations. While fashion think tanks are nothing new, the sheer magnitude of this year’s wave is unlike anything else. Beyond Fendi x Skims, the Italian house partnered with Versace for FENDACI, while Gucci tapped both The North Face and Balenciaga. But with Kardashian West backing Fendi x Skims, expect this one to sell out immediately.
