Amid the release of Sweet Magnolias‘ fifth season on Netflix, fans are already eager to find out if the show is heading for a renewal. All ten episodes of the fifth installment come out in June, and there’s already growing buzz regarding whether the show has already received a greenlight for another chapter, or if the latest season will be the final one.

Has Netflix canceled Sweet Magnolias or renewed it for Season 6?
Netflix has neither canceled nor renewed Sweet Magnolias for Season 6 as yet. It is still too early for the network to make a concrete decision on whether the show will return for another season, but the possibility remains wide open.
The biggest factor would be the reception of the fifth season. If Sweet Magnolias continues to boast the fanfare it has for the past years, the show could get a renewal one more time. “If the fans show up and reaffirm that it’s something they want to see, I believe Netflix will be supportive of another season,” JoAnna Garcia Swisher said about the possibility of a sixth season to Parade. “Everybody involved would love to land the plane in a celebratory way with a sixth season.”
The series stars Swisher alongside Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley in the lead roles. It is based on the Sweet Magnolias series by Sherryl Woods. The Netflix show has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 78% and an IMDb score of 7.3.
All 10 episodes of Sweet Magnolias Season 5 will arrive on Netflix on June 11, 2026.
