Has Widow’s Bay Season 2 Been Renewed or Canceled?

Viewers are curious to know whether Apple TV+ has canceled or renewed Widow’s Bay Season 2. Created by Katie Dippold, the comedy series is set in a fictional New England town. It follows a mayor who is doing his best to boost tourism on the island, which appears to have been cursed for centuries, as evidenced by the strange events that continue to take place. As the show premiered its last episode recently, many want to know if additional installments are on the cards.

Is Widow’s Bay canceled or renewed for Season 2?

Apple TV+ renewed Widow’s Bay for Season 2 ahead of the current season’s conclusion. But at the time of writing, the next installment’s release date remains unannounced.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV, released a statement to confirm the renewal. He said, “From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laugh and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew and the entire team have created. It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”

Creator Dippold further teased that in the upcoming installment, everything is good on the island and that there should be nothing to worry about. In another conversation with TV Insider, Hiro Murai, director of a few episodes this season, was asked about where the primary conflict of the island is heading with another season renewal.

He stated that showrunner Dippold has a fair idea about it. Revealing what the creator’s thoughts are, he added, “Although she has been saying that the curse is solved now, so the show is going to be about a really lovely, quaint town in the Northeast. Take that as you will.” Moreover, he revealed that he hasn’t decided, but he hopes to return to direct episodes in the next outing.
