Oasis Tour Announcement Set For Monday?

Oasis Tour Announcement Set For Monday?

Oasis has never been particularly fond of subtlety, and its 2007 tour tease is no exception. A giant drone display above Etihad Stadium in Liam and Noel Gallagher’s hometown of Manchester, U.K., has seemingly revealed when fans can expect news about the band’s 2027 plans: 4 p.m. BST on Monday (Sept. 14).

The spectacle appeared over the home of Manchester City last night, with the Oasis logo morphing into the time and date. The band subsequently shared its own footage of the display, soundtracked by “Lyla” and “The Shock of the Lightning” — two songs conspicuously absent from last year’s Live ’25 setlist.

That makes Monday look like a potentially big one for the Gallaghers. Following the first portion of the hugely anticipated reunion tour, Oasis is likely to stage a 12-night homecoming residency at the Etihad and return to Knebworth, where it played legendary 1996 concerts in front of 250,000 fans. A series of other location-specific teasers has led Oasis fans to play digital detective, with clues pointing toward stops in Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Boston and Rome.

The Manchester display is hardly Oasis’ first flirtation with drone-powered theatrics. The band deployed a giant aerial logo over Heaton Park ahead of its five-night homecoming run there during the Live ’25 tour, while similar spectacles popped up around the world during the reunion trek.

The teases also come in tandem with the release of the long-awaited documentary Don’t Look Back in Anger, which chronicles the lead-up to and experience of Oasis’ first shows in 16 years (Liam and Noel allegedly hadn’t been in a room together since their disastrous final show in Paris in 2009). Created by Peaky Blinders‘ Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Lovelace and Will Southern, the film is highlighted by intense rehearsal footage of the Gallaghers slowly working through their catalog (they ran through the Definitely Maybe standout “Columbia,” only to leave it out of the tour repertoire) and their gradual realization of the enormity and impact of their return to the stage.

Asked by NME if fans could expect a live album or dedicated concert doc to emerge from the reunion, Southern said, “I love physical media so I hope so, but we haven’t had that conversation yet. There’s an embarrassment of riches in terms of what didn’t make it into this film, so hopefully people get to see it at some point.”

Knight elaborated to the BBC, “what we’re finding is people who’ve watched it, they have an emotional reaction to it and afterwards they think, well, you know what, I haven’t spoken to my half-sister for 10 years. Maybe I should text, Maybe I should call. And if that’s the effect it has, then I’m all for it. It’s great.”
