Steve Doocy has clarified his future at Fox News following a change in his role. He rose to fame as a founding co-host of Fox News Channel’s signature morning program, “Fox & Friends,” in 1998. A part of the network’s family since its launch in 1996, Doocy has been there since day one.
Steve Doocy plans to continue his reporting adventure for Fox News
Last year, Steve Doocy bid farewell to the iconic curvy couch on “Fox & Friends,” closing a long chapter. However, for the Fox News original, it was simply the start of a fresh inning from his new base in Florida.
Stepping away from the daily grind has given the TV host the gift of more family time. And as the father of three approaches his 70th birthday on October 19, Doocy also reflected on what lies ahead for his own career.
In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Steve Doocy weighed in on his shift from studio to the road, admitting the biggest challenge is managing the coast-to-coast logistics. He shared that he plans to keep working three to four days a week, touring the country, and checking in on what people are doing.
Revealing what he loves most about the format, the traveling co-host said it gives him a full eight to 10 minutes for a walk-and-talk conversation, something almost unheard of in cable news. He added that it is great to see the idea resonating with the audience, noting that viewership continues to grow steadily throughout the segment.
As for his plans, Doocy revealed that he has no intention of slowing down and intends to continue in his current role. The political commentator shared that the job has never once felt dull, and he is truly having the time of his life. According to him, they are developing a new approach to reporting using a new technology called LiveView Technologies (LVT), which allows them to broadcast from virtually anywhere while on the move.
