News previously came out that Carson Daly would be stepping away from his hosting duties on The Voice. Since then, fans have been picking up supposed clues that this could lead to another job opportunity with Today. Many have also weighed in on the idea.
Carson Daly Has Been Part Of The Voice Since It Made Its Debut In 2011
Many were introduced to Daly as the primary VJ on MTV’s Total Request Live from 1998 to 2003. Since 2013, Daly has also been part of Today. Initially serving as a social media anchor and digital reporter, he is currently a feature anchor on the morning show and hosts his PopStart segment.
In addition, Daly has been a host and executive producer of The Voice since 2011. However, it was previously announced that he will step down as an on-camera host for the upcoming The Voice: Celebrity, which is set to premiere in spring 2027. With Keke Palmer taking over hosting duties, Daly is still expected to remain as a producer for the show.

It was previously believed that Daly decided to leave the show to cut back on bi-coastal travel and spend more time with his family. However, some fans believed he might transition into a new role on Today.
An Insider Previously Weighed In On Whether Daly Could Make His Return To The Voice
Weekend audiences have recently noticed that Daly has anchored Today‘s weekend news over the past three consecutive weeks. This has also been done in addition to his weekday appearances.
Thanks to this, many have wondered if Carson is considering taking on a permanent weekend schedule. Many fans have weighed in on the idea on the show’s Reddit page.

As one fan noted at the time, “The guy has been a loyal, hardworking soldier for NBC for over 20 years. He really deserves it.” Another speculated, “I think he’s lining himself up for an opening in the future.”
For the time being, many fans appear to have already welcomed the idea. One fan noted, “I’m enjoying Carson on Saturdays. He’s seems to also be the most consistent during the week. I’ve become a fan.”
However, this comes out as there is some speculation that his time on The Voice might not be over after all. Speaking with The U.S. Sun, one insider noted, “He remains an executive producer on it and the door is open if he wants to return for Season 32.” Ultimately, fans will need to stay tuned into Today to see what happens next.
