Only Murders in the Building is preparing to wrap up its fifth season, and after that, it might be checking out – just not in the way you would necessarily think. The latest season of the beloved Hulu series is currently five seasons deep, with Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short continuing their sleuthing shenanigans as the crime-solving, podcasting trio of Mabel Mora, Charles-Haden Savage, and Oliver Putnam. The forthcoming finale is expected to resolve the season’s central murder mysteries, involving the deaths of Arconia doorman Lester Coluca and mobster Nicky Caccimelio, but the biggest plot twist of all could be yet to come.

At the time of writing, Only Murders in the Building has not been formally renewed for a sixth season, but an announcement is widely anticipated, especially now that the fifth season finale is on the horizon. According to Deadline, if the show receives the greenlight to continue (which is expected given its ongoing popularity and critical success), then it could be heading in a whole new direction, with Mabel, Charles, and Oliver swapping New York City for London. The transatlantic move might be hinted at in the tenth episode, as the show typically drops some breadcrumbs for future seasons while also wrapping up the current murder case.

    More to come…
