Vin Diesel’s R-Rated Sci-Fi Sequel Coming To Peacock Soon

Among the movies that will begin streaming on Peacock next month is Riddick, a dystopian sci-fi thriller led by Vin Diesel, which has managed to garner a massive fan base since its release. The new year is all set to bring a host of fan-favorite titles to the doors of the streaming platform, including the David Twohy-helmed 2013 film, which serves as the third entry in the eponymous franchise.

Vin Diesel-led Riddick to stream on Peacock next month

Fans of the Riddick franchise have much to rejoice about, as all of its installments are currently on track to make their way into the library of Peacock.

As per ComicBook.com, subscribers of the renowned streaming platform will be able to view all the film series’ entries, namely 2000’s Pitch Black, 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick, and 2013’s Riddick, starting January 1, 2026. The sci-fi horror movies, created by brothers Ken and Jim Wheat, revolve around the skillful criminal Richard B. Riddick, played masterfully by Vin Diesel.

The third installment in the franchise, Riddick, arrived in US theaters on September 6, 2013. It brings back Riddick, who finds himself abandoned on a foreign planet after the Necromongers choose to betray him. As such, he has to join forces with mercenaries in order to survive the dangers of the desolate world.

Apart from Vin Diesel, Riddick also features Matt Nable, Jordi Mollà, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Karl Urban, and Bokeem Woodbine in pivotal roles. As per Box Office Mojo, the film was made on a budget of $38 million and was a moderate success. It earned over $42 million on the domestic front, with the worldwide collection being over $98.3 million.

Riddick also holds a decent score of 58 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, based on 172 reviews. Furthermore, it scored 56 percent on the Popcornmeter. Both critically and financially, the sequel performed better than its 2004 predecessor, The Chronicles of Riddick.

Meanwhile, a fourth Riddick movie, subtitled Furya, is currently in production, albeit without an official release date.
