1000-lb Sisters is set to return with a new season, and fans won’t have to wait too long. In fact, a new trailer has just dropped, giving fans a hint of what to expect. This includes all sorts of developments in the Slaton family, especially within Amy and Tammy’s own relationship.
Amy & Tammy Will Return As 1000-Lb Sisters‘ Season 9 Is Set To Make Its Debut
1000-lb Sisters is a reality series that revolves around members of the Slaton family, particularly sisters Amy and Tammy, following their weight loss journey. The series originally made its debut on TLC in 2020.
As fans know, the series has already aired eight seasons. However, Season 9 is right around the corner, with TLC dropping a new trailer.

As seen in the trailer, Amy and Tammy were ringing in the New Year with their family, with the sisters talking about their resolutions. Amy and their brother, Chris Combs, hit the gym. Meanwhile, Amy had an interesting announcement: “I’ve started writing AI music.”
Their sister, Misty Wentworth, was asked about Amy’s new project. She shared, “Ask me when I’m off camera.” Chris similarly quipped, “If you use AI to do anything, you didn’t do it.” Amy defended her music, however, saying, “It ain’t AI, it’s Amy.”
The Trailer Also Ends On A Tense Note Involving Tammy
In another moment, the siblings laughed at Amy’s interest in making a music video. Thinking of her unsupportive siblings, she quipped, “When I get rich and famous, don’t come crying to me. Do not darken my doorstep.”
Meanwhile, over the years, viewers have seen Amy and Tammy go through a lot of ups and downs in their relationship. However, the trailer teases the two working on their relationship and fixing their bond, though they acknowledged that it wouldn’t be easy.

After taking a more serious turn, Amy shared, “Me and Tammy are taking things slow. We’re still rebuilding trust.” Tammy agreed with the sentiment, sharing, “It’s gonna take time to get that bond back.”
In addition, the trailer also explored other developments in the family with this upcoming season. Elsewhere in the trailer, for instance, Tammy went horseback riding with her then-girlfriend, Andrea Dalton, calling it a “dream come true.”

At one point, Andrea shared, “I care a lot about Tammy, but I can’t be on this rollercoaster. I know what I have to do.” The trailer then ended with Andrea asking Tammy, “Will you marry me?”
According to Parade, TLC previously teased about the upcoming season, “As both sisters pursue new goals and navigate evolving relationships, they remain committed to repairing and strengthening their bond, proving that despite life’s challenges, their connection remains at the heart of their journey.” The season will make its debut on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 9 PM ET on TLC. It will stream the next day on HBO Max.
